My first job as a couples therapist is to create the safe, open, and affirming environment necessary to allow couples hear each other and learn to better care for each other and themselves as whole people-- body, mind, heart and spirit. I have a doctorate in clinical psychology and have specialized in couples and family work for 13 years. I bring to this process experience in working with couples coping with addictions, trauma, depression and anxiety, or infidelity as well as every day struggles around parenting, finances, sexuality, and communication. My training has been diverse, so I have a “toolbox” which enables me to meet each couple where they are and craft with them their own unique path toward the relationship they want. I consider myself an active and engaged therapist and I encourage couples to be active between sessions. My goal is to connect, support, and eventually make myself obsolete by fostering insight, skills, strengths and strategies that couples can use long after they leave therapy. It is my hope to do this work with respect, a generosity of spirit, and humor. I truly enjoy working with couples and treasure the moments of joy couples arrive at together.
