Is there a specific problem in your marriage or a general sense of dissatisfaction or unhappiness? A satisfying and fulfilling marriage takes effort and daily attention. So often we get caught up in careers, parenting, financial stressors, conflict with in-laws and the general busyness of daily life; we don’t have the energy or we forget to pay attention to our marriages. Over time, damage to the relationship occurs and we are left with uncertain hopes, unresolved anger and bewilderment as to how to bring about healing and wholeness to the marriage. I work with couples, helping them to recognize destructive relational patterns, teaching new ways of interacting and developing the means to mend the broken places in the relationship. You might be worried because your spouse does not want to participate in counseling at this time. I believe that just one spouse's willingness to change can have a positive impact on the relationship and can be the catalyst that will eventually transform the marriage. I work with individuals and couples as needed to bring about change and healing.

I have a special interest in working with couples who are struggling with issues related to alcohol abuse and recovery. Most couples find that sobriety does not automatically resolve previous conflicts and those unaddressed problems can pose a risk for relapse. I work with both partners to address addictive and codependent behaviors to bring healing.
