I have been a practicing Marriage and Family Therapist since 1978. During my Graduate education at the School of Social Work at The University of Iowa, I chose marriage and family therapy as my specific area of concentration. I would say that this area of interest is my passion and I enjoy my work. People ask me how I am able to listen to people's problems all day without going crazy and getting depressed myself. The fact is if that was all that there was to it - listening to people's problems - I probably would go crazy. The great joy in my work, and the satisfaction, is in seeing people get better. This desire, this satisfaction, keeps me on the learner's edge.

As therapist and client, fellow human beings, we focus in on the areas of conflict you are experiencing and search for possibilities that will free you from your pain and perhaps anger. We navigate through the emotional process, learn to think what you are not thinking, see what you do not see, and hear what you do not readily hear. This is not an easy task. Our raw emotions and closeness to the situation can create a rigidity that needs to be loosened before new awareness presents itself.

I am a capable guide who will respect your individuality and choices along this process while providing you a sureness of foot that only experience can provide.
