My basic approach to therapy is that people have within themselves the resources to get unstuck. It is my task as a therapist to find the door that will access the strengths and resources which couples have perhaps marginalized or "forgotten" to use in times of stress. I utilize a systemic/narrative approach in which the story of each individual is important for the full development of the marriage/relationship.

I have been a therapist for many seasons and had been married over 36 yrs before my wife died of metastatic breast cancer in March 2009. We have three adult daughters and five grandchildren. I have learned to appreciate the creativity required to be married and hopefully the humility to know I still have more to learn on this new part of my journey.

I do work with engaged and committed couples and the whole spectrum of marriages, attachments, and partnerships, as well as individual clients.
