I believe that couples who specifically seek the services of a licensed therapist in marriage and family therapy are making a choice about their intent and desire to do all that they can to protect, preserve and strengthen their couple relationships.

Sharing that value, I have been working hard with couples for over 18 years so that they may better understand their difficulties, with a goal of helping facilitate meaningful change between them. From a family systems perspective we understand that we all learn rules and roles in our family of origin. These same rules and roles sometimes lock us into patterns in our marriages that lead to conflictual tensions or conflicts. Using a variety of modalities including family systems, communication, marriage education skills, and cognitive-behavioral therapy, most couples gain a clearer understanding of dynamics between them that lead to conflict. Having gained this information, couples are then in a position to create lasting and meaningful change. Coming to counseling can be anxiety producing for couples. It is my hope that within my practice you will find the professionalism, respect and caring that will help you feel welcomed and relaxed, so that together we can explore difficulties that come between you.
