I assist individuals and couples to co-create more nourishing, enduring and successful relationships. I provide therapy in person, in workshops, or by phone. My goal is to help you restore and enhance your love, emotional intimacy and trust through clarification of your boundaries and elimination of your power struggles.

As a marriage, family, therapist, I affirm the following:

A. I believe that a healthy, committed, marriage is vital for individuals, children, families and communities, and I therefore affirm its unique value.

B. Because I believe that many and maybe even most marriages can be restored to health even when the spouses are unhappy, conflicted, or demoralized, my first and primary commitment is to explore how the couple might preserve their marriage and enhance their relationship.

C. Because I believe in fairness and equity in couple relationships, I promote the needs and goals of both parties.

D. Because I understand that some marriages are toxic and dangerous, I do not promote marital commitment blindly but rather with respect for the safety and human dignity of both partners and their children.

E. Because I acknowledge my clients’ ultimate authority and responsibility to make their own decisions either to remain married or to divorce, I respect these decisions even if they differ from what I hope for them. I acknowledge that spouses sometimes have incompatible goals for their marriage.

F. Because I know that there are many stakeholders in marriage, especially children but including extended family members and the broader community, I work to help couples see how success or failure of their marriage affects significant others in their lives.

G. Because I understand the high stakes in working with couples in crisis, I seek consultation where I feel stuck in therapy or when the couple is moving towards what may be a premature divorce. I also recommend and provide phone consultation. Please visit the following websites:
