I work with couples in a feedback-informed way to make sure we're on the right track together from session to session. I focus on increasing safety, respect, and intimacy, where both partners feel valued and heard. Sometimes I help with building stronger communication skills, but everyone comes with their own particalar strengths and issues.

Each couple has its own goals: some want to deepen their sense of openness and trust, but others come when their relationship is on the brink and a ton of clean-up needs to happen first to deal with some of the harm and injury that's happened up to this point.

I'm a big fan of helping people "move on" past their hurts and grievances by dealing with them fully and completely rather than whitewashing or avoiding them. This can be tremendously difficult, yet I think that this approach tends to be a good blueprint for a successful partnership: an orientation to felt truth and a deep respect for feelings and points of view, where both people can share the stage and more fully be themselves.
