As an Emotionally Focused Therapist and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I want to help you have a relationship that feels solid, fulfilling and emotionally secure. I work from a strength-based, relational approach with a wide range of couple issues. It is important that we work together in a collaborative manner to resolve the real life issues you bring to marital therapy. I offer supportive and affirming services to committed couples from all walks of life. Committed relationships often provide irreplaceable benefits including social support, health benefits, companionship, and more. When the relationship sours or stress becomes the norm, we feel discouraged and may want out. Relational distress is an often untreated condition with real life costs.

Couples describe my style as being warm, open, and engaging. I bring a sense of humor to the work and 20 years of experience. Unlike many individual therapists and couples counselors without training in marital therapy, I tend to be more interactive and willing to provide structure in the sessions.

Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, EFT, is an evidenced-based, empirically validated approach to healing marital distress. It is the fastest growing approach to couples therapy in the world for a good reason; it works. Research indicates 70 to 75% of couples completing EFT move from distress to no distress, and 90% report significant positive improvement. To demonstrate to you my love of this work and commitment to EFT, I am an International Centre for Excellence in EFT Certified Trainer. The only such trainer in the Rocky Mountain Region. I am also a Certified EFT Therapist and Supervisor.

I believe in the central importance of relationships. To learn more about my practice, you can visit: www.engagingtherapy.com.
