I know bad things can happen to good marriages.

I am an approved supervisor in marital counseling, meaning I teach graduate students and doctors how to work with couples. I have been an approved supervisor for more than a decade. I have taught at U of I, Northwestern and Indiana Universities. I understand that building and maintaining a strong marriage is not easy. You can count on me to treat you and your relationship with respect and care.

I am a student as well. I continue to improve my work in weekly consultation with local colleagues, attending national and international conferences, and learn from every couple with whom I counsel. I strive to continue enriching my work with couples. I have worked with couples in distress for more than 20 years. I've learned from clients I've seen over this time that these episodes can be very difficult.

The intensity of the conflicts and disappointments can make one second guess and underestimate the value in a fundamentally sound relationship.

I am a resource to the couple to move them carefully through a crisis and renew a strong, rewarding relationship. It is my responsibility to create an emotionally safe place to better understand oneself and one's relationship.
