Did you know that many couples spend more time, energy, and money planning their wedding than their marriage. After the party is over, reality sets in.
As a marriage and family therapist for more than twenty five years, my focus is on the improvement of committed relationships. If you and your spouse both want to restore your marriage to health and are willing to devote yourselves to your marriage, then we go to work to reach your goals as quickly as possible. To help expedite the process and maximize our office time together, I will suggest self-help homework assignments, including books (bibliotherapy) and films (cinema therapy).
For those couples who are unsure about whether to stay in their marriage, I offer Marriage Clarification sessions using "Discernment Counseling" (as developed by Dr. Doherty, founder of this website). This process if offered to help you clarify your values and make the decision about whether marriage therapy is the right course of action for you.
Another very important part of my commitment to marriage and family is my work as an Adjunct Professor in the Graduate School of Education and Psychology at Pepperdine University where I have the on-going opportunity to teach the next generation of marriage and family therapists.
