Being a psychotherapist for many years has given me the opportunity to see and work with a wide range of people and issues. Couples work is the core of my practice. I work with heterosexual and same sex couples at varying life stages, and I have a special interest in couples with different cultural backgrounds. Couples usually come in around a crisis; it is my role to help them develop the skills and ability to cope with the varying issues that they’re facing and come to a positive resolution.

Often it is not easy for couples to reach out for help; there can be shame or fear of failure that interferes with the decision to seek help. However once couples do come in - at whatever stage their relationship is in - the likelihood of problem resolution and increasing satisfaction in the relationship is high. The wide range of conflicts such as broken trust, sexual issues, or “my partner doesn’t get me”, can be repaired and used as a springboard for greater growth. It does take work to repair, enhance and strengthen a relationship -- but the resulting happiness makes one feel that the effort was well worth it.

My approach is respectful, non judgmental, collaborative and encouraging. We start with both current and past injuries and move towards a healthier and more fulfilling relationship. The gratification of living with greater contentment is significant; I look forward to helping you get there.
