When I began my work with families and couples over thirty years ago, almost all the families I saw were struggling with addiction issues, which made them vulnerable to many other extreme behaviors. This experience helped me to develop an attitude of confidence in my optimism and my client's resourcefulness and resiliency. I have experienced many families digging themselves out of grudges borne out of extreme conflict styles.

Since 1995, I have been using Richard Schwartz' Internal Family Systems model. This approach enables clients to heal the parts of themselves who get hurt by their partners, and to speak effectively for their own parts concerns. I have found that this can create the safe atmosphere in which their loving, playful, sexy parts can become reacquainted. I love this way of working, and take delight in introducing it to my clients.
