I have been working with couples over 25 years, and I believe that people can become derailed and feel as they are totally distanced from each other. I try to help couples ignite the spark between them, even if it seems like its practically invisble. We explore how they came together, the stresses in life that brought them to this point of distress or in some cases despair.

I use tools such as communication exercises, homework assignments to explore ways of having fun as part of the rekindling, looking at photo albums together and recalling past memories. I use the genogram or family tree to examine both current and extended family interactions. I believe in doing all that is possible to save a marriage. Helping couples forgive each other and themselves is also an important part of my work. I understand that at times a marriage cannot be saved and then I have to help them end their marriage peacefully, especially if there are children involved.
