The marital struggle is one of power and control. The question being is who do you really have power over? I hope the answer is yourself. When couples marry they work to become one. The problem is that many times one or more have to give up parts of themselves to become a couple. This is incorrect!! To become a couple you need to complete yourself and learn who you are, what you want and how to get there. Then as you become more whole and aware there is more of you to share with your mate. The union becomes so much more powerful where passion, love and understanding can grow and flourish. Dr. Pitta created a way to heal relationship problems through a therapy called "Integrative Healing Couple Therapy: A Search for the Self and Each Other" where the members of the couple learn about themselves and share with each other their stories enabling them to feel compassion and empathy for each other which enables a more passionate and loving relationship. Each member of the couple learns to face issues and problems that stops them from relating to the other for who they are. Each takes responsibility for how they think, act and feel. Leaving room for both to connect in a healthier and more mature manner where they learn to meet each other needs and wants. Everyone becomes a winner in the relationship!!!! Dr. Pitta conducts pre marital education and therapy for couples who want to enhance their understanding of themselves and each other to promote a healthier adjustment in their marriages.
