I have extensive training and experience in marital and couples therapy, and I have taught other professionals for the past 19 years. For 22 years I have been helping pre-marital couples, newly married couples, remarried couples, same sex couples, and older couples make positive changes in their relationship. My focus is to help couples save their marriages and the commitments they have made to each other when possible, and to find new ways to have a more mutually satisfying relationship. I see couples in an initial assessment session, and we mutually develop an active plan and direction for positive change. I engage, challenge, and support each partner to move toward new ways of honoring their commitment to the other, and I offer ideas and strategies to help them accomplish this change. I am an active and problem focused therapist that believes that couples can make needed changes and in a relatively short time frame if offered positive alternatives to their problematic patterns of behavior and thinking. And I believe that most couples want to work towards making a better relationship for themselves.
