I approach counseling with couples by helping them become better as husbands and wives than anything else in the world. This is crucial in creating a healthy, loving, and respectful married relationship. Quite often the stresses and demands of life can pull couples away from each other and marriages get off track. Emotional needs (including, but not limited to, understanding, respect, affirmation and affection) are ignored and couples become hurt and vulnerable. Without emotional needs met in a meaningful way, some couples may begin to look outside the marriage for fulfillment. By combining clinical knowledge/expertise with life experience (including a marriage of 30+ years), most couples benefit from my suggestions for improvement and are then able to renew their relationship goals and ideals.
