Greetings! I have 25 years experience in helping partners stay married. I‘ve aided in the resolution of all types of marital conflict or distancing and have seen well over a thousand couples. I am gratified that the vast majority of these collaborations have ended happily.

In session, I explain that it is not my role to act as judge. Time is better spent emphasizing strengths as opposed to assigning blame. When we meet, I provide a safe environment where both parties have the opportunity to speak and be listened to. I also point out patterns of interaction that you and your spouse have developed that may or may not be working. I then discuss alternative behaviors with you for your consideration.

I often tell people that coming to counseling once a week can help a great deal. However, it is what you do at home between meetings that will make a lasting difference. For this reason, I generally provide specific relationship “exercises” to practice between sessions.
