About  Rhonda Stalb

Hello Friend! Welcome to the Marriage Friendly Therapists Network! I'm so glad you are

here! I’ll begin here by sharing my story with you so that we can form a connection!

The Broken Road to Transformation

Have you experienced a trauma so devastating that you weren’t sure you’d ever recover?

Perhaps someone close to you betrayed you when you were only a child?

Or a spouse did the unthinkable? Are you trying to recover from an affair?

Or a close friend left you alone in your time of need?

All of us have experienced betrayal at different levels. I must be completely transparent

with you. I've also lived through events that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy .

I’m here to tell you that you aren’t alone in your pain.

My story

As a child, I witnessed domestic violence and drug use daily. In addition, I was sexually

abused by a babysitter during elementary school.

Later, I married my first husband (in my late teens) who was abusive and addicted to

drugs. That life was normal for me. It was all I knew. I created a self-made prison with no

escape. I begged him to go to marriage counseling with me, but he refused.

Then, I caught him in the act of sexually abusing our child. Soon after I caught him, he

was prosecuted and sentenced to 10 years in prison. He is still in prison.

Therefore, we divorced in 2008 after 15 years of marriage. The betrayal resembled a

knife piercing my heart.

And then because of that trauma, my children and I struggled with Post Traumatic Stress

and shame was an unwelcomed companion. I sank into a deep pit of depression I

couldn’t climb out of without help.

Despite the struggle of recovery and the stigma of my past, I sought help in counseling

and Celebrate Recovery. It transformed my life.

At the time, I wasn't sure if change and recovery were possible.

But now because of counseling..... I'm able to maintain healthy relationships. I don't

have low self esteem. I see myself as a valuable woman who doesn't have to tolerate

being mistreated by anyone.

My sense of self has been healed because I surrendered to the therapeutic process. I feel

like a whole person for the first time in decades.

And the icing on the cake is...... I get to "pay it forward" by helping other women and

couples like you!

In 2008, I started my Master of Arts program to become a Marriage and Family Therapist

because I felt compelled and called to help others make sense of their pain and

overcome the odds.

My Story

Is Therapy Right for you?

So, you may be asking if individual counseling, marriage counseling, or participating in

my counseling courses is right for you. You may be scared out of your mind to share

your darkest secrets with a stranger or to dig deep under the layers of your pain to find

I understand that fear, but everyone needs a safe space to share their deepest hurts and

to heal.

The unique value of my individual and marriage counseling services is that I’ve turned

my previously broken life into a ministry for other broken people. So I do understand

your pain to a certain extent.

And as a result of my healing journey in counseling, I’m now living proof of how God can

transform the shattered pieces of life into a beautiful masterpiece of forgiveness,

healing, and restoration.

In 2011, I married my best friend Doug, and we just celebrated our 7th Wedding

anniversary. We've gone through marriage counseling together to help our marriage

thrive. I've learned to establish healthy boundaries to teach people how to treat me with

value. And I've learned to love myself and you can too!

With counseling all of this is extremely possible! You deserve to live a happy and love

filled life again!

If any of what I shared resonates with you, contact me for a free 30 minute

consultation or sign up for my course so you can begin your journey to healing!
