About Dr. Erin Findley

Once upon a time…
…you had a wonderful relationship with your partner.

What happened?

Has your relationship begun to feel like you’re stuck in the same negative pattern, over and over?
Have you turned into roommates, instead of life mates?
Are you asking yourself any of these questions:

“Why can’t we just talk about it?”
“How did we get here?”
“Every time I try to fix it, things just get worse.”
“I feel lonelier in this relationship than I would feel if I were by myself – and that kills me.”
“I work hard all day, and when I come home it’s nothing but more work and arguments. No one appreciates what I do.”
“I’m taking care of everyone else – but who’s taking care of me?”
“I feel like I have to walk on eggshells and preserve the peace, no matter what”

The truth is, being in a long-term relationship can be difficult. Job stress, parenting, chronic illness, and past trauma all add to the disruption in a relationship. When one or more of these are at play, your energy is sapped and your ability to respond to your partner or kids with patience is limited. It’s hard to keep yourself from just reacting, whether that reaction is to snap out or shut down.

My name is Dr. Erin Findley, and I know – from very personal experience – how it feels to be trapped, alone, and stuck in a relationship without any idea how to make it better. That was the story of my first marriage. I promised myself I’d never end up there again, so I became a lifelong learner about how relationships work, how to keep them healthy, and how to heal them when they get off-track. Now I want to use what I’ve learned to help you.

If you have the feeling there could be something more to your relationship… you’re right. But finding the roadmap from disconnection to connection on your own is difficult at best. When it feels like you’re already at odds with your spouse, it becomes nearly impossible.

Sometimes, outside input is all you need to get on the right track.

When the world outside speeds by at 100 mph, let me help you and your partner discover how to take time, truly experience what you’re feeling deep-down and share those parts of yourselves with each other in a clear, congruent, and open way. Together we’ll find out where and why you get stuck – as well as how to get unstuck and reconnected when it happens.
