I work with individuals, couples, and families. I believe in healing individuals as a whole so they can function at their most complete in their relationships. I bring a family-centered perspective to treatment, even when treating individuals. I evaluate family roles and development, to understand how clients’ families affect their mental health. I treat the clients’ relationships, not just the clients themselves. I address issues, such as low self-esteem, stress, addiction, and substance abuse that may affect individuals and their relationships.
In my practice I believe in encouraging couples to discuss their emotions and experiences. I help couples process their reactions and adjust to difficult changes in their life. I guide couples through the process of making decisions about their future. I help couples develop strategies and skills to change their behavior and to cope with difficult situations in their relationships.
I use a variety of techniques and tools to help couples. I use approaches that apply cognitive behavioral therapy, a goal-oriented approach that helps clients understand harmful thoughts, feelings, and beliefs and teaches how to replace them with positive, life-enhancing ones.
