About  Nitasha Strait

Welcome to your journey to finding the right therapist! Cultivating and sustaining relationships can be exceptionally rewarding, but they also come with their fair share of challenges. Whether you're in a monogamous or polyamorous relationship, or seeking therapy for your family, the common goal is improvement. You're reaching out to a therapist because you desire positive change. You want to learn how to be a great partner, you want your relationship(s) to be as rewarding as possible, you want to feel invigorated when you think of your life with your partner(s) or family. If this sounds like you and you're married, then marriage counseling is for you. Or, if you find yourself in a committed relationship and are dedicated to your partner or considering marriage, couples counseling or premarital counseling could be the transformative step you're seeking. Perhaps you've encountered a challenging phase, facing issues like infidelity in your relationship. My role as a therapist is to skillfully navigate you through these tough conversations, fostering healing and reconnection. Embrace the certainty that you can overcome this.

I can help you identify what your relationship pyramid (much like a food pyramid) is made up of. A solid base should consist of trust, compassion, sensuality, and communication. From there, you can build connections, empathy, lust, and feel like you're building something together. You're here because you believe one or more of these things is missing in your relationship(s). The work we do together will help you (re)build and balance all of the necessary tools in your relationship pyramid to get in contact with deeper levels of love, joy, happiness, and fun in your relationship(s).

Together in marriage counseling, couples counseling, premarital counseling, or family therapy, we will identify healthy patterns that are your strengths as individuals, as partners, and as family members. Together, we'll uncover the unhealthy cycles that keep you stagnant in dissatisfaction and hinder you from attaining your desires together. You'll gain awareness of the barriers that feed these unhealthy cycles. Our goal is to cultivate a healing environment within couples and families that stem from unresolved past wounds. Through courage, vulnerability, and transparency, we'll guide you towards your desired destination.

With a master's in Marriage and Family Therapy and another master's in Sex Education and certification in Sex Therapy, my work is all-encompassing. There is no topic that is too large or off-limits. I believe that every part of you as an individual is a part of you as a partner or family member, and therefore part of the relationship(s) you find yourself in. Some counseling sessions will be spent on individual stories and others will be spent working with the couple or family as a whole. Each of you brings something unique to the table. To better understand one another and grow together, each person in the relationship needs to be able to hear just how special the other person is. Through understanding comes openness for change. Through change comes anything you can imagine!

I'm honored that you have taken the time to read this far and get to know me as a therapist. Now, let me return the favor and join in your journey of healing, growth, and transformation to a better you, better relationship!
