About  Ann McIntosh

Whether you feel the need for marriage counseling, premarital counseling, couples counseling, relationship therapy, or marital therapy, I work with all types of committed couples. During couples therapy sessions, we address difficult issues that can be part of all relationships.

Couples Counseling – Rekindle Affection and Trust

Throughout each couples counseling session, our goal is to foster positive change. All aspects are open for discussion and we focus on:

  • Restoring Friendship, Respect, Civility, and Mutuality, Trust, and Loyalty
  • Appreciation and Gratitude
  • Communication and Affection
  • Sexual issues
  • Finances
  • Children
  • Emotional interactions
  • Extended family
  • Family dynamics

Collaborative Couples Therapy Treatment Option

During traditional couples therapy with one psychotherapist, one of the clients might think the counselor’s view is gender-biased and thereby interpret sessions as a two-against-one atmosphere. To help eliminate these concerns, my colleague, Dr. George Pazdral, MD, JD, and I provide a highly beneficial form of collaborative couples counseling and marriage counseling.

To help eliminate these concerns, I provide a highly beneficial form of collaborative couples counseling and marriage counseling.

Opening Doors to Communication

Couples counseling in a collaborative setting works best when there is an evolving level of trust and wide-open communication, feedback and interaction. Efforts my clients make to put insight into action also enable and improve success.

Collaborative couples therapy succeeds for relationships that need only minimal improvement and redirection, as well as relationships requiring rescue-level intervention. My marriage counseling and couples counseling are highly individualized to the couple-clients. I follow no specific program or formula, but have, as a result of my experience and training, a rich selection of interventions to help couples evolve to a richer, more companionable relationship.

The first few couples therapy sessions allow me to hear your individual stories and concerns and understand what particular changes each of you desires. You are also evaluating me during this period to determine if I can help you.

Feel free to visit my website to learn more about me. You are welcome to email me directly using this form, or call my office. I look forward to hearing from you. I’m here to help.
