About  Bob Good

Emotional connection is a skill that for many couples was unknown from the moment they became young adults. I help couples learn communication skills for emotional intimacy including understanding, validation, empathy and engaged listening. The best part is that couples learning these skills have the opportunity to pass their skills to their children in becoming effective communicators!

The oldest of four brothers, Bob is originally from Chicago, Illinois. During high school Bob excelled in sports and was offered a pole-vaulting scholarship to Illinois Southern University. But the Lord had a different direction. Upon graduation Bob selected Trinity International University (formerly Trinity College) in Deerfield, Illinois and majored in biblical studies. Using his talent he coached high school pole-vaulting and also served as a youth pastor in Akron, Ohio. Bob has been a senior pastor in Arizona, Florida, and New York. Years later he attended Dallas Theological Seminary and graduated with a Th.M. (1987) and MABC (2002). From 1991-1993, he continued post-graduate work at the University of South Florida in Counselor Education. While in Florida, he served as a social worker for the department of Health and Rehabilitative Services in Ft. Myers, counseling developmentally disabled adults. Additionally, he taught as a substitute at the graduate school and interned under the direction of Dr. Lucy Mabery-Foster (Dallas Theological Seminary). He served as a adjunct professor of psychology at Collin College and lecturer at Southern Methodist University continuing education department. His gift and passion for biblical-based counseling has also led him to build a thriving practice with offices in Frisco and Plano Texas where he is the president and clinical director, licensed professional counselor supervisor, board certified anger resolution therapist of Stonebriar Counseling Associates. As a counselor and seminar speaker at various professional associations, his writing has also includes publications such as Conflict Resolution for Children(Collin County Kids),Counseling Intervention with Couples, Relationship Networking In The Business World, Estate Planning, and Financial Planning for the Family(Colorado Springs Business Journal). Both he and Lois who live in Plano, Texas are the proud parents of four children and seven grandchildren.
