Co-founder / CEO
Kathleen S. Wenger, MA, “Kay” co-founded the National Registry of Marriage Friendly Therapists in 2005. She blends a unique background of business professional and therapist to meet the unique needs of The Registry. Over the past twenty-five years, Kay has held the position of Manager of Clinical Training and Professional Development while serving on the Adjunct Faculty in the Psychology Program at Pepperdine University’s Graduate School of Education and Psychology.
She currently oversees and aides over 800 future marriage and family therapists, along with Pepperdine’s Psychology alumni in their Clinical Training and Professional Development. In her long standing role as a university manager, Kay is passionate about helping therapists become more visible to couples in need of help with their relationships. Through years of working with psychology students and licensed professionals, Kay learned that many therapists lack marketing skills. This is why she created www.MarriageFriendlyTherapists.com.
Prior to entering the field of psychotherapy education and training, Kay was the National Director of Sales and Marketing for a large publicly held company. Additionally, in the late 80’s, she was Western Regional Director, overseeing all western operations of a national corporation.
Kay received her M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University in 1992 and is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. For the past 20 years, she has chaired/co-chaired the MFT Consortium in Southern California, a setting where professionals from agencies and universities come together to discuss relevant issues within the psychology world.
Customer Support / Admin
Frances has been working with the Registry since 2018. She brings a wealth of experience in customer support and administration. She is personable and loves to help our members and those seeking to find a therapist. A more detailed biography will be added soon. France’s approach to her work is to develop partnerships and working relationships with our current and future therapists. This is important to ensure every point of contact is productive and successful, and that therapists get what they expect out of belonging to the Registry. In getting to know our therapists, Frances is often able to anticipate their needs and respond effectively, consistently, and professionally.
Co-Owner / Member Support
Robert has spent many years in various positions in the technology field. Part of his experience is as a small business owner wearing many of the same hats that our therapists wear. He has experience as a service provider, marketing person, sales person, customer relations, scheduling, new business development, accounting, etc. He enjoys helping members make the most of their membership. He is available to help with technical issues on the site, profile writing, understanding SEO and how that relates to your profile on our registry.
