About  Susan Adams

I am a licensed marriage and family therapist and a licensed professional counselor who has been in private practice in Atlanta for over 33 years. My best credential is that I have been married for over 36 years and have raised one daughter, numerous cousins, and currently am owned by two wonderful Boston Terriers.

I am delighted that you have found my website! Did you know that only HEALTHY people have the courage to question their situations, and problems and look for solutions? That means that already we know that if you are reading this, you are healthy. Being “healthy” means that you can learn new information and apply it to problem-solving.

My office is full of people like you who are looking for practical solutions to difficult and uncomfortable problems.

People who know how to talk to each other can get through anything. However, people need to know HOW to connect with each other AND their brain chemistry must be working properly to give them the optimism to do that.

I am helping people to work through challenges with resolution. I help people to develop a clear understanding of the problem that they are having. Sometimes the “symptoms” look like the “problem”.

Once the real “problem” has been identified, I work with clients to find practical, behavioral and values-based solutions that cause their relationships to improve.

The important point here is that what we DO with what we FEEL is key. Simply identifying what we FEEL is not enough to improve our lives or our relationships. Identifying what to do with feeling as opposed to simply identifying feelings is the key to working through crisis situations. This makes it possible to stay in a relationship, as opposed to leaving the relationship and taking unresolved issues to another partner or situation.

I prefer you to contact me at my office where I can personally answer any questions. I have a 24-hour answering service who will be happy to take any name and number you choose to leave and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
